Hi, I have the Add-on installed but it does not work. Could you please explain what to do besides installing the Add-on? Thanks

Thank you for taking the time for writing a review.

Normally the Add-on should simply work after installation without further configuration.

Please note that there is a Bug in Thunderbird (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466537) that causes problems when you try to reply to a message that was sent from another Thunderbird account. For testing please send the test mails from an address that does not belong to one of your accounts.

I added this notice to a new "Known issues" section in the description of the Add-on.

If this is not the cause of your problem, please feel free to create an issue at https://github.com/astehlik/thunderbird-addon-subaddress-reply with some more information about what you are trying to (ideally with some screenshots).

Hi,
Erst einmal eine Super-AddOn-Idee, nur scheint es nicht ganz richtig mit Amazon WorkMail zu funktionieren.

Ich habe eine E-Mail von

[email protected] nach [email protected]

gesendet. E-Mail wurde korrekt zugestellt. Doch bei Klick auf Reply erwartete ich, dass E-Mail als

Absender "[email protected]"
und als
Empfänger "[email protected]" zeigt.

Ich bekomme aber als
Absender "[email protected]"
und als
Empfänger "[email protected]"

"[email protected]" wurde überhaupt nicht berücksichtigt.

Kann das mal bitte überprüft werden? Gerne schicke ich den Original-Screenshot per E-Mail.

Ich kann dein Problem nachvollziehen, wenn die ursprüngliche Mail von einem Account gesendet wird, der ebenfalls in Thunderbird hinterlegt ist.

Leider scheint das ein Bug von Thunderbird zu sein. Ich habe genau das gleiche Problem, wenn die Erweiterung deaktiviert ist (Absender und Empfänger sind vertauscht). Den Bug gibt es wohl schon länger :( Siehe z.B. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466537

Bitte melde dich, wenn du auch Probleme hast, wenn die Mail von einem Account gesendet wurde, der nicht in Thunderbird hinterlegt ist. Du kannst dazu auch gerne ein Issue bei GitHub aufmachen: https://github.com/astehlik/thunderbird-addon-subaddress-reply/issues

The add-on works as described and doesn't need any configuration.
It makes using separate subaddresses for different organisations very easy, especially when you need to send a reply to emails, e.g. for verification.

It would help to explain the need for permissions here in the add-on page.
