Enigmail

Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles

Alright, I gave it a look and it can't install in FM 24.2.0b1- but it could install in TB 24.2.

I also went to the support page which then insisted on creating an account at Sourceforge. I no longer trust SF due to it's recent changes and the account also could not be created no matter how much I juggled things around. Even if that did work that is an awful lot of steps!

If it can be modified to work correctly I will come back and write a better review. Until then it is 1*

AutoCopy 2

Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This one great for productivity and flow. It sounds simple but cutting out the steps of right-clicking and hitting copy is HUGE! For rookie users those are too many confusing steps and for veteran users this will add up to countless saved clicks.

The other advantage is this author didn't sell out and this one does not report back to any questionable servers. The stinky(regular) AutoCopy and all extensions bought out by Wips do!

I pointed out that it spied on users and my review vanished. Typical!

PasteHyperlink

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

Yes, it is possible to post links- but without this the process takes several clicks and an IMO lame window to do it.

This one is much better. If you have the link in your clipboard you hit the icon and it goes.

Over the course of time cutting the number of steps will add up for power users and cut the entry barrier for rookies.

Mail Size Report

Long since abandoned. It was a nice bonus back in the days of 3.

Certified Messages

Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles

The idea here was just sensational- but the list of problems is BIG: (Plus I went back and dropped it to 1 star for the suspicious other reviews)

* When installed the icon gets automatically installed in your "Write" window but the icon absolutely cannot be moved, it has no label- and can't be labeled, and it has no border.

* The icon is totally dead. Clicking on it does absolutely nothing.

* It is possible to go to the master site and then turn the message into a link to copy in as a message. Why can't the icon do this?

* Then when clicked on it takes the viewer to another site which wants to redirect to the master site. Why are there 2 sites? Then when one goes there it still isn't clear if the message has been read or not. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the whole thing?

I contacted the developer and got no response. Is it abandoned already?

The bottom line is the idea was great but the execution is nonexistent.

**EDIT**

I pulled up this page again and saw that a bunch of 5 star reviews were left all within 2 days, all by people with Indian sounding names and all only reviewing this extension.

That isn't suspicious at all. No, no developer would write fake reviews. That never happens...

Classic Toolbar Buttons [Tb24-58] (discontinued)

I saw that it had multiple recent updates- even during the holidays- and that is just spectacular!

The Mozilla morons really need to rethink their ways and start listening to Aris! Free choice lives!

User Agent Switcher

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

Compared to the other extensions in it's class it has a number of advantages:

*It actually does what it says it does.

*It has a large list of agents.

*It has an easy import function and a link to a (mostly) updated list of user agents. The list is flawed but nobody else has posted anything close to this.

*The UI flows well.

*It comes with an icon- and the icon isn't jumpy!

There is another bonus trick: Often times a casualty from the rabid-release carnage is extension developers put their minimum compatibility numbers too low. This especially hits users of browsers such as Palemoon because browsers like that don't have inflated version numbers. With a good UA switcher those users can come on and appear to have the latest Failfox and get the (100% compatible) extensions they want without the dumb version # hassle.

*EDIT* I went ahead and removed the earlier comment. Happy holidays!

New Plugin Disabler

Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This is a good idea. The bottom line is most plugins get put there without permission and most of them aren't wanted or needed.

The one factor that would lessen the need for this is most plugins are 32 bit. If you run a 64 bit browser most of them never get stuck on there. Still, this gives users one more level of choice.

**EDIT** I am going back and adding one more star for making it also work for email( I urge switching from TB to FossaMail.)

I am pleased to see that people are out there with their thinking caps on!

AttachmentExtractor

Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles

Not long ago this one was pretty useful but it hasn't been updated since 2011 and it probably never will be again.

Ever since the suicidal rabid-release began developers are dropping like flies. The whole TB catalog is dying and if someone got rid of the abandonware we would see just how small the catalog really is.

It is good to see that some still believe in user choice. Aris rocks!

When will someone at Mozilla revolt against their Google overlords and believe in choice again?

about:addons-memory

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

I only gave it 4 stars because it is situational. The main point is it can show just how little resources your add-ons probably are using. Even if you run a bunch they probably aren't slowing you down- they probably are speeding you up.

The key is to run it and then not obsess over the results- especially if you don't know how to interpret them. MAYBE it might point out add-ons with memory leaks. Also, add-ons that do more are going to require more resources while those that make minor changes or run silently in the background are going to tend to be dinky. That is how the cookie crumbles.

The bottom line is it is a handy tool if it isn't abused. I recommend installing it, running it periodically and then disabling it most of the time and not stressing over it.

Copy Urls Expert

Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This one is really good. I set it by default to be a one-click copier for the current tab since that his how I do most my link copying. For a power-user such as myself just cutting a click or two adds up over time.

I used to use Copy URL but that one recently stopped working. I contacted Kasif about this one and he responded quickly. His other add-on is good too so that has him batting 2 for 2.

Good job!

Check for Updates in Help Menu

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

This is a review for both the browser(I run Palemoon- not Failfox) and Thunderbird versions because it works in both and perhaps it should be amended to add that it is restartless.

Dagger should be complimented because he makes a number of add-ons that at first glance make what appear to be minor changes. However, they tend to correct a whole host of downgrades that Mozilla keeps cranking out with the whole rabid-release fiasco.

Dagger rocks!

NoGlass

Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Recently I have been desperate to improve the look of TB. For a long time I stuck with 3.1.20 and refused any more of the rabid-release garbage. Recently I took a chance and tried the latest on one machine. I still haven't decided on which is best.

Needless to say I tried getting personas to work and lately the Mozzlosers have been royally screwing them up. Even when they started working again many of the good ones wont drop down far enough leaving an interface mostly done and partially not. That looks horrendous!

Personas should have an option of being stretched below 1280 pixels otherwise many good ones are going to fail for folks who have detailed control setups.

Then I went and went through one theme after another(and yes, I also refuse to buy into the stupidity of the new terms(themes, complete themes.)) Anyways, I went and tried one after another, on the latest version and on 3 and after a zillion downloads and restarts it became readily apparent that the whole catalog sucks and is dying!

Many don't work and nobody has removed them- probably because they don't want to expose just how slim the real catalog is. Also, many were too strong, too weak, had too much glass... Put it all together and just how many do you truly want to see on your screen?

Then I found this one and it seems to have a really good balance. I think that glass is a really bad idea for TB and this one combined with it's other modest changes really presents a very well balanced UI

Good job!

Maybe years ago this was a real winner- but it has long since become abandonware. Too bad!

I should really give you a bunch of glowing reviews for each of your themes. I tried a bunch of them and with my very complex and customized TB(3.1.20) setup and ultimately I couldn't find any themes whatsoever that worked perfectly with my setup- and I downloaded a zillion of them and did a ton of restarts- and ultimately failed.

However, yours were the closest and I think that the quality of your work is worth being applauded.

Keep it up!

Tab Group Switcher

Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

It barely works and part of the problem is the whole concept of tab grouping. It sounds great in theory but in reality it is more trouble than it is worth. Don't bother with any of the tab groupers.
