Does what it says it does.
Would be great if the reminder date could be displayed as a column

I really like how light weight and simple this extension is. Like the about portion says, if you want something more robust go with something like ReminderFox, but this is exactly what I was looking for. Like the instructions say, you’ll have to add a couple new tags but that was pretty easy :).

fyi To address a previous review, the extension now offers a date picker.

To the developer: can you post a link to buy you a coffee?

it only change the tag color after specified date expire.
No pop up, meh

Doesn't work. When I click the reminder button, it offers a date field. However, there is no date picker, and if you try to edit it in the format I have set (YYYY-MM-DD), it expects a 6-digit year, which of course doesn't work properly.

Doesn't work

Maybe I didnt use it well - i entered a date in the email (for a few days later), it tagged the mail = made it appear in red.
But on the entered date, i didnt see any notification/popup or else about the email... now this email is tagged as "expired".
So the reminders are just about the colors and tags ?

Hallo,
I'm using TB60.3.2. I like this App, but in the newest Version there is a bug: in RemindIt 2.1.a I find no possibility to delete the Reminder after I've done my work (for example reading and answering, saving the attachments). I delete the tag "remind...", but when I change to another mail, the tag automatically comes back.
So I re-installed Version 2.0.0b. Please fix this bug.

Ideas for imporvement:
1. More Labels (for example: this week, next week, next month, later) or ability to chose own labels would be nice.
2. It would be nice to have the opportunity to set a reminding date for more than one mail with one click.

And at least a Dream:
Because I very often have more than 10 mails in RemindIt soon. It would be nice so have the opportunity to sort them by reminding-date.

Greatings from Sisam

Great idea, I like the simpler approach more than mailmindr, but the ext. has some bugs (I have TB 52.9.1):
1. The datepicker for reminder dissapears after Thunderbird restart. I have to disable and re-enable the extension to have it back.
2. I don't have the datepicker in message composer window.

And ideas for imporvement:
1. Add a meaningful label to date picker
2. Ability to chose own labels would be nice (or alternatively provide translated labels)
3. Apply also to threads

Hi K M, thanks for the review. The current version is an intermediate one with limited features, see version comments.
1- datepicker disapearing : will be fixed in the next version (soon to be released)
2- same.

Thanks for the improvement ideas.

Please note that this addon prevents you from having two contacts with different names and same email address. The second contact you define overrides the first. Otherwise, this addon is very useful.

I think that this review is for another addon

Sorry, but I am not programmer so my help would be very limited.
Anyway, Currently in TB 52 this extension stop working after few days.

It would be great if this awesome ext. would:
- work with new TB version
- be able to work with threads [multiple selected emails]
- can be more simpler [two labels: under time / over time will be enough]
- provide option to re-schedule popup [remind me again in ... ]
- be able to trace messages in any folder [trace move/delete messages]

I've been using it for a few hours, and already v useful. Finally, I can unload that list of pending emails from my poor overworked brain.

I had to work it out how to use it by trial and error, and I'm still not completely sure what's going on: it ought to be self-explanatory in use (it isn't) and the documentation is unclear. E.g.:
a) I think you disable the reminder status by setting the date to today.
b) It's not clear what the "Days before expiration" in the Add-On Preferences relates to. Is it the time between when a reminder goes amber and red?

Personally, I prefer the simplicity of 2 states (red/green), not 3. Perhaps setting "Days before expiration" to zero achieves that. I'll experiment, but I shouldn't have to.

It worked for a few days and suddenly stopped working. When clicking on "Remind and Send", it no longer tags the email...

This was one of the most useful add-ons ever for a few days... I wish someone could fix it!

I find that very useful. It is better than filtering messages by status because you don't not want to keep track of every unanswered mail. (Especially when you reply "OK" to someone, you would not expect an answer).

TB 17.
"In the main window, the Reply button is provided with a drop down menu with new options:" This button is not enhanced, nor is any of the reply functionality (menu/mouse) in TB. I do see some extra RemindIt tags but that's all.

What I'm looking for is to select a message and choose to be reminded of it in x days or date/time y. I'd like X and Y to be message specific. After X or at Y, I'd like some mechanism to remind me of the message and to repeat the reminder at interval z chosen by me.

I don't want fancy auto reply just a simple reminder, valid until cancelled. Remind it seems to be going down the route of let's make it complicated and user unfriendly.

I just installed it on TB 17.0.2 (Mac), and it seems to work great. I´d like to second a suggestion that others made already: The "number of days" should not be generic, but it should be possible to change them for every message. A new message should pick the default values, but one should be able to modify them. I think this is a crucial feature especially in a business environment.Other than this: Keep it up guys, I´d say you are currently developing an addon that could easily become one of the more important ones! Thank you for your great work, and for sharing it!

I use the Status Bar on almost every message to see if a link in a message body is really the link it says it is. There is already a summary of the number of messages Unread/Total/Total Size next to each folder, so replacing the Status bar with that same info, but for only the current folder, is a poor replacement for an essential feature.

After the last update, when in "Sent items", I can't add a reminder to a previously sent email IF that email has been sent to a single recipient. That means: if I've sent something to Mr. A and (cc) to Mr. B, I can then add a reminder from "Sent items". Otherwise, I can't :(
