Previously, I used the now defunct Google Calendar Tab. This is a worthy successor, and the most important Thunderbird extension for me.

Thank you!
This is the simplest yet most useful integration of Google Calender in Thunderbird, showing you not only the calendars, but also Google Notes and Tasks!

Hi,
It's a very good exension, but it doesn't work with thunderbird 70 o:((

It's necessary to modify manifest.json and install.rdf

It works with one account only.
It shows new empty tab when I try to add second account.

I've been mucking around, on and off, for years, making sure that my online and offline calendars are synchronised. Now they are, thanks to your Open Google Calendar extension. I also have the same issue (it's not much of an issue, really) with Google Contacts. Do you fancy writing an Open Google Contacts Add-on? :-)

Best add-on ever used.
Using Open Google Calendar I'm able to include Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Keep, Google Drive, Google Photos, Google News & Google Search tabs whenever I open Thunderbird. Everthig is bi-directional & updates instantly across all my devices.
Don't really need a browser anymore.

Grottenschlecht.

Great add-on! However, I cannot sign into a second account. I need to be able to see calendars for multiple accounts.

A note for those who have problems with the tasks disappearing: I had the same problem, but found out that, if you close the tasks sub-window before closing the calendar tab, the next time you open the tab, the tasks will be closed, but when you open the window, the taks won´t disappear! So, you just need to close it before closing the tab! Don´t know why it works...rs

I´m a user of Google Calendar, and have been looking for quite a good time for the best way to use it with a email client, without the need to open browser or apps. I like Thunderbird and now with this extension it is simply very good.

I have the same problem with the tasks, they appear at the beginning of selecting the calenadario icon, but only for a brief period of time, then they disappear and the window remains blank.
It hurts, because I use this part of the calendar a lot, and it forces me to have the Google application open.
I hope it can be resolved soon.

I also have this same problem "Since yesterday (March 14, 2019) the tasks appear for a very short time and then there is only a white window"

It has a lot of potential, especially since Lighting is so poor as a synched calendar. Sadly, I installed it today, and like many others find that 'Tasks' appear in their window but are visible for only a second or so, then they disappear leaving a blank window that cannot be closed. This is a pain, not only can I not see my tasks, but the rest of the calendar is made small by the blank task window. Shame., I hope it improves because TB needs a good synched calendar.

On the positive side, the Google calendar appears exactly like it does in the GUI interface, and changes made in your calendar in both the tab and the web GUI appear in the other calendar within a few seconds. Creating new events, deleting events and editing existing everts can be made in either calendar.
Once the task window problem is resolved it will be a really good addon.

It's good to be able to check calendars and tasks without signing in to Google on browser. However, since a couple of weeks ago, the tasks view keeps disappearing few seconds after loading. The settings window doesn't work either. I'm using another option 'Provider for Google Calendar' at the same time, when I want to copy and paste schedules. It also has problems in tasks management, though.
