My Reviews

NewsFox

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

feeds can be opened from Newfox page as new firefox tabs in the background - which makes Newsfox very usable with bookmarking and bookmarking firefox extensions. I have had no problem quickly updating a large amount of feeds as summaries.
Newsfox handles OPML files for exporting and importing wich makes it easy to set up other instances or other feed readers (i.e. liferea, quietrss, seamonkey, etc.)
Its easy to add feeds, delete feeds and to organize feeds into groups.

Lightbird

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a terrific Add-on, especially considering that SunBird Calendar is no longer under any real development. Using the "lightening" extension plugin in Seamonkey, Lightbird adds an additional separate calendar component, that can be used as a stand alone Calendar . Running the Lightbird Calendar in Seamonkey by itself runs at about 110-140 M ram.

My experience using the Lightning extension on Seamonkey which is required to make Lightbird work:
You must find and download the Lightning extension from its "Beta" page, to make it work on Seamonkey.
If you use a local calendar, note where the ".ics" file is for each calendar OR
export your calendar as an ICS file to your own customize folder location and reopen (File -> Open calendar)... this because Lightening tends to break on new Seamonkey updates... however the local ics files are still preserved if you need them immediately. together lightning, lightbird and Seamonkey are a good calendar option.

Lightbird

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It gets five stars if I can figure out how to launch it as a console command... i.e. seamonkey -addressbook for seamonkey address book. Then it could be binded as its own component like the other seamonkey/ice-ape components .

Lightning

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I am using lightning Version 2.7b1 for Seamonkey on a low end low Ram computer and it is working great again. I work with Icals (.ics) because it suites me best, and Lightning is terrific at handling them: import. export, open, periodically update. all features work. works with calendars and tasks.

ReminderFox

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Since "Lightning" is no longer compatible with Seamonkey, this is the best reminder and calendar avail. Reminderfrox easily imports ics files that i export to my netbook. its easy to read. This extension keeps seamonkey usable for me.

Lightning

lightning is a featured extension with mozilla's brand on it. A calendar is pretty important in a clients like these -- and yet this one is not properly updated for seamonkey -- making this extension, and seamonkey unreliable as PIM.

PrefBar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

please keep updated!
Its pretty sweet to be able click off and on images, Javascript, indivdual plugins or any preference (I made my own button/key to toggle plugin-click-to-play) with a hot key:
...when reading my feed reader on my wireless laptop, or speeding up an older low end, low ram DTop. I easily made new hotkeys for closing all tabs, reopening and duplicating tabs... I am able to hotkey a some java script bookmarklets and regular links.
I guess I could use the extensions button on the easily hidden tool bar or drop down menu, but the key assignments keep my Firefox and Seamonkey-Navigator browser clutter free.

Its been my favorite browser add-on for years.

ProfileSwitcher

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

difficulty: I have two extensions that are essential for me, both use the sidebar and are not very compatible with each other.

solution: have them on separate profiles, with the profileSwitcher extension.

If you extend, customize or config Firefox heavily... this extension is a must. You can have multiple profiles that act as specialized Firefox browsers, without them being one browser, bloated with too many add-ons.

ProfileSwitcher lets you switch profiles at anytime, select which profile you want at start up, delete profiles or add new ones at anytime.

cons: all profiles still share the same plugins. You can have them turned on or off separately per profile

I have used it on Ubuntu Linux and windows, Firefox 12, 13 Beta, and 13. and I have no problems... works perfectly.

PrefBar

It obvious that the developers didn't have aesthetics in mind when making the toolbar, However the toolbar can be hidden with only a single button visible for the searchbar leading to a drop down.

I use this extension on both Firefox and SeaMonkey , there are tools I use daily:
toggling on/off off plugins like flash and Java (you can find buttons to import for PDF and and Silverlight),
toggling the focus of new tabs,
resetting zoom, restoring and closing tabs,
changing user agents, turning on/off Caches,
Toggling on/off the pipeline configuration,
and a whole lot of other buttons.

This is an essential extension for Firefox and SeaMonkey, IMO.
