Something I just discovered, and believe me it's still a pretty wonky way to go about highlighting:
Get the "Quicktext" add-on. Make an HTML template of a 1 x 1 table with 0 for border, pad, and cell space. Make the background your favorite highlight color.
Now you can just quick-text a little yellow or whatever color table box into your email document without having to create a 1 x 1 table every time you want some highlighting. Like I said, still wonky, but this is a bit better...

Just like others, I really enjoyed this when it worked. Just to save anyone the trouble, you can't simply unzip the plugin, update the max ver and then re-package. Sometimes that can work to get you by until a plugin can be properly updated by the developer. One "work-around", I've been using for a while now is to create a 1x1 border-less table that has yellow (or whatever color you like) as the background. Just put the word or words you want highlighted inside that table, viola! instant fake highlighting. It's more of a pain, but you do get faster at it the more you do it. Hopping the proper plugin gets fixed soon. I sure miss it.
