Highlighter

Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas

In continuation to the review by Sergio3N
the highlighting function works well with Quick text. The steps are clearly as follows

Download the Quicktext Addon

Create Group "Highlighter"
Then Add Template
Put the Title as "Yellow Highlighter"

Copy the following text as shown in the window under Title

<span style="background-color: yellow;">[[SELECTION]]</span>
<span style="background-color: white;"></span>

Insert as select "HTML" with the drop down.
Leave the other headings like Subject, etc as blank

Then click save

In the same group create another template
Title : "Un Highlight"

In the window copy the following text

<span style="background-color: White;">
[[SELECTION]]
</span>

Insert as : "HTML"

Click save

With this everything is done. There are now two options.., one to highlight the selected text as yellow and then to un highlight the selected text

While composing an email in Thunderbird now will be seen a bar showing the group name "Highlight" with a drop down arrow on the right side. When clicked it will show these two options

in the compose window, select the text that needs to be highlighted as yellow, use the drop down to highlight the selection or un highlight an already highlighted selection string

In each case the text string needs to be selected
Hope this works well for most till an update is posted here
