Very good idea and nice set of features. Unfortunately, this add-on is not customizable yet, so you are stuck with a (too short) preview of latest mails, a list of frequent correspondants, a short list of drafts, disk space used and some other stats. In my case, I only care for an aggregated list of all the mails in the account's different folders, but I cannot make it bigger. It would be fairly simple to make the different panels optionnal, and make the remaining panels use up all the available space. Also, it doesn't include the mails in the subfolders in the summaries, and there is (yet) no option for this.

Excellent addon.
Recently I started Thunderbird to see a message cannot write to disk, check there is enough space. When the mail summaries page was shown no data for correspondents, space usage graphs and Email patterns are shown, There is over 24GB free on the disk.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Mail Summaries and have tried the development version all with the same result.

Any ideas?

You could try checking the error console (Ctrl+J on Windows). Also, make sure none of your mail folders exceeds 4 GB (or maybe 2 GB on some platforms; I'm not clear on what the limit is these days).

Finally, if you have issues, please post reports on the support page (linked on the right side of the main page for this add-on) instead of here: https://bitbucket.org/squib/mail-summaries/issues?status=new&status=open

Appears to be partly incompatible with 23a2. Not all features working. Hoping to see update, this is a great add-on.

I test this add-on regularly on the latest build of Thunderbird (i.e. the Daily branch), and I haven't found any issues. If I've missed something, please file a bug: https://bitbucket.org/squib/mail-summaries/issues/new

EDIT: I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I noticed that you filed a bug (thanks!) and mentioned a picture, but I can't see a picture in the bug report.

This addon is great, but there're many potential in improving it even more. Adding a preferences dialog specific to this addon options is one of them.
Some other useful statistics and usage patterns can also be added to.

Świetne zestawienie - chodź nie widzę praktycznego zastosowania dla tego, to jednak jako dodatkowy bajer, czysto informacyjny (statystyczny) jest bardzo fajny.

Great addon! Wonder if there is a way to set it as the Start Page. That will be very useful.

This add-on replaces the start page, so yes, it's possible (in fact, it's mandatory). If that's not happening for you, please file a bug here: https://bitbucket.org/squib/mail-summaries/issues/new

I tried this add on for the first time today and I love it. It gave me a summary of my mailing details including a graph. I'm so impressed.

Very useful and a real time saver! Very well done. Should be incorporated in the standard T-bird package. Nice job!

This really adds a lot of value to the account and mail panes (when no message is selected). It would be great for us "Copy Sent to Current" users if it you could add some options for ignoring our own emails for items like "Top Authors". Recent Messages is a great feature as well for cherry-picking without browsing.

Great approach, well done! What is really appealing is the lightning-fast speed. My folders contain 100-10000 mails and it shows summaries instantly. Graphic design, implementation: kudos. I have been making tb plugins myself, and this one is really good.

Background: I am looking for a plugin that does "zero email" analytics. There is a need for companies to reduce internal emails, because people can collaborate much better using online collaboration tools. I wanted to check how my own tool, getRefinder.com, helps reduce our own internal emails. As such, Mail-Summaries could show me a cluster of sent/received by email DOMAIN - implying company/org groups. That would show how much I communicate internally compared to externally. "Zero Email" is a big issue today, and I would like to recommend Email Summaries further to other consultants and providers and users in the area. If you want to promote it further, use the twitter hashtags "zeroemail" or "socbiz". A mesage like "use mail-summaries to analyse how close you are to #zeroemail" would help. Get in touch with @leobard to give feedback.

Note that zeroemail means: company internal emails. External emails are fine (for now :-)

Business/enterprise isn't a priority for me, but at some point, I plan on making it possible to extend/modify the various summaries. Once that happens, it shouldn't be hard to support something like this.

Thought it conflicted with Thunderbird Conversations, but re-enabling it after an upgrade to TBird 12.0a has it working. Some sort of temporary glitch?

Excellent add-on!

If you're using Thunderbird 11.0 or higher, you'll need to download the latest beta of Conversations. The Conversations dev and I have coordinated on things so that nothing will break, provided you're on the right versions.

A really useful homepage for Thunderbird.
It provides a great overview of each account and quick access to many areas.

great add-on. tells you basic stats about your email usage. Places these stats on the main pane when you click on either INBOX or on any folder. pie charts and diagrams give basic statistics, and also recent emails and handy links are shown.

I hope the developer upgrades with even more stats, possibly labels the axes of the charts more clearly, etc!

also, I'm not sure why the block for Inbox says Inbox (100) ... it is obviously calculating based on more emails than 100.

great, simple add on. this should just be built into thunderbird.

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (2.0).

You're in luck; there are plans to (eventually) build this add-on into Thunderbird. However, there are some improvements I want to make before merging it in.

As for the bug with the inbox count, I've fixed it and it should be available whenever I release 2.1.
