Definitely deserves 5 out of 5 stars. A very useful extension indeed! I use it to keep track of emails which I need to reference in OneNote.
Note the new version 0.5 (you have to click "all versions" below to see it) has been updated to work with Thunderbird 5. This is my favourite thunderbird extension.

Brilliant!! 5 out of 5. Does exactly what I wanted. Only 2 issues:

1. Only opens linked email when Thunderbird isn't already running for some reason.

2. Does not work with TB 5 yet (the url copies, but you can't open the emails by clicking on links - it opens TB without opening the relevant email). An update for Tb 5 would be much appreciated!
As it is a really useful extension, for which I gave 5 out of 5.
