This app needs to "Have full, unrestricted access to Thunderbird, and your computer" once installed although on the app's page it only lists "Display notifications to you" under permissions. Not clear.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.3).

sorry but we cannot change the behavior of Thunderbird. All experimental Addons get this scary warning automatically because they can do what all legacy Addons have always been able to do - access the complete Thunderbird fronted code.

the permission is used by the background script. addons should not be penalised for unclear behaviour of Thunderbird. please raise an issue onthe quickFilters github bug tracker if you need changes or would like to start a discussion.

The app is good but is getting so complex. I have other things to do as to study addons.
The publicity is that annoying that I prefer my peace again, over the comfort of the addon. So I got rid of it.
Maybe you could bring out a quickfilter light for the free paying clients, do a minimal on maintenance and leave us in peace. I do not need that much rings and bells. Then I would reconcider using it again.

[UPDATE]
Ver. 5.8.1 fix issue. Everything works properly.

I confirm, the latest plugin update (5.8) disables the shortcut that selects all messages (Ctrl+a). The shortcut works in the message body, but you cannot select all messages in the message list of a folder.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.8).

The issue is fixed as of today (v5.8.1)

Please use Github or the in-Add-on support tab if you find any new errors, Thanks in advance!

Die aktuelle Version 5.8 deaktiviert im Betterbird die Nutzung der Tastenkombination STRG + A "alle Nachrichten markieren". EDIT: mit der heutigen Pre-Version ist das Problem behoben. Vielen Dank!

Seems to work well now

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.6).

thanks, still working on some improvements for Thunderbird 102. Filtering itself is a bit patchy in Thunderbird at the moment, hopefully they will fix some stuff in the platform itself.

Outstanding extension!
This extension add so much power and confort into my work process that it has become essential.
Here i use it to manage +/- 150 filters that often need to be modified, it works perfectly.
Thanks to the develloper for being so reactive when asked for help.
I bought the license and it worth it

Hands down, the absolute best filtering tool for sorting, flagging, and organizing incoming mail; plus+ so much more.

This extension is the main reason I use Thunderbird. I can easily categorize emails based on specific criteria and later combine the labels to decide what actions to take. An extremely useful extension. The pro version is well worth it, if not only to support its continued development.

I need to access the company Exchange from Windows occasionally (using ExQuilla).
FilterQuilla simply offers the standard set of filter mechanims (e.g. regex on headers) you'll never find in a misdesigned nightmare such as Outlook.

I really like Quickfilters in Thunderbird. It helps me keep my inbox down. I use it to create filters for maillists and correspondents I want to put in their own folder. I also use it to send emails from senders I don't want to see-- to the trash. It instantly creates a filter with that sender's name. After a couple of weeks of this my spam is way down. (I also use an external anti-spam service, but they don't catch it all).

The filter export/import is exactly the functionality I was looking for and this extension does it flawlessly, even between Windows and Mac.

The biggest problem I see that this is a memory hog application.
Turning it on cause me to have to increase my swap space and with only 8 GB of memory has other problems too. The filter window expands so large I have to keep shrinking it to find the ok button at the bottom. I have very large list and likely need to trimmed down. Just wish the windows sizeing of the filter window would fit the screen and not have to keep scrollimg it. Another thing the fact that it memory hog and having such a smaller memory capacity these applicaiton needs to consider that. I see too much memory taken up. TB is getting way too big.

Why don't you raise some bugs on my github? Just got to
https://github.com/RealRaven2000/quickFilters/issues
and click on [New Issue]

The long windows is actually a Thunderbird bug - it has nothing to do with quickFilters, but I may find a workaround. Also the filtering mechanism itself that is from Thundebird, so I don't feel like quickFilters should get a bad rating for that,

In quickFilters preferences, first tab "Actions" under "Merge Rules" (Règles de fusion) there is a setting "Skip to Template Step" (Passer et aller à l'étape modèl) - I guess that's what you may have activated. Btw, you can get direct help via the support (Aide) tab.

It's already there, and it is called "custom templates". With these, you can design your own templates exactly the way you described - please check the "Advanced" tab to try them out.

Bonjour ,

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.0.2).

Actually "apply filters" to a message from the context menu is a built in function from Thunderbird - it's not provided by quickFilters. The main business of qF is managing filters and easily creating new ones through an assistant that watches you while you file away mail. Also backup / restore / sorting / troubleshooting.

I would still be interested in your use case, can you please create a new issue on github?

I love this so much I still use the old Thunderbird and am not updating until this addon gets updated.
Seriously, why would anyone use Thunderbird any other way?
My elderly mother used it as well until she accidentally hit that nagging "Do you want to update Thunderbird" button
Then I gave up on her and just installed the lastest version.
I wish there was a way to disable that nagging popup.

Dear Jeff - It is updated as of December 2nd (version 5.0.2). Before you update I would advise using the backup feature to save all your filters (in the filters list, toolbar on top) for each of your accounts just in case Thunderbird gets something wrong. As regards popup can you send a screenshot to the github please?

This is the single most useful, must-have Thunderbird add-on.

I hope the author is able to update it for the new Thunderbird, I miss it so much.

Ha! I wish I would have read this before upgrading Thunderbird! I do have a license for quickFilters, so hopefully that will help with the new QF update, so I can get filtering soon.
