Theme Font & Size Changer for ThunderBird

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I attempted mrx2020's fix. I have the latest Thunderbird. When I went to the Add-Ons Manager and checked the page for Theme Font & Size Changer, it said "THUNDERBIRD USERS PLEASE SWITCH TO THE NEW THUNDERBIRD VERSION BY BELOW URL:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer-for-tb/"
I went there, but it said "Not compatible with Firefox Quantum. This add-on is not available on your platform" and would not let me right click on "add to Firefox" to download the .xpi.
I smelled a typo, so I edited the URL to be https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer-for-tb/ -- Extracting this, I did see bootstrap.js.
I edited bootstrap.js like the instructions said, NOTE! You have to comment out the lines with //, NOT ## like in HTML! then PeaZipped it (an xpi is just a zip file, you change the extension from .zip to .xpi) I literally did name it whatever.xpi. Then did an Install From File in Thunderbird and it appeared to install successfully. Yay! I then restarted Thunderbird. Be sure to delete the old, non-working Theme Font & Size Changer in Add-Ons after doing this.

If you don't use // for commenting out the lines, it will act like it installs just fine, but you won't be able to see it. Be sure to use // !!

NOTE: We users should not have had to do any of this.

All Fall by MaDonna

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I like to change my themes with the seasons. This theme evokes the feeling of autumn while your tabs and menus and everything are still readable. I've left it on, well, all fall! Thank you. Another work of real art by MaDonna.

Weather Underground (Forecast Plus)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm very fond of Weather Underground & love having it as an add-on. Other than the fact I cannot get the 10-day forecast to load (color wheel just spins around) it is a great add-on to Firefox, and I'm sure they're working on it.

Fighiting Illini

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A simple effective theme that takes me back home. I am native on my dad's side and actually he and I both like the Indian logo and the name "Fighting Illini". Thank you.

I kept this on my browser all winter long. Thank you.

Mail Redirect

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm giving Mail Redirect 5 stars for my experience with it on my laptop, where it runs like a dream. I have been unable to install it on my PC, however.

Both the laptop and PC have the latest Thunderbird, 13.0.1, auto-updated. When I try to install Mail Redirect on T'bird on the PC, however, it says "Mail Redirect could not be installed because it is incompatible with version 13.0.1."

The only difference between these two machines is that my laptop is running Vista Home and the PC is running WinXP Pro SP3.

If the problem is the operating system, why doesn't it say so? This is really frustrating.

Please advise.

Forecastfox Weather

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I'm a big fan of color, but for some reason the big colorful displays in the new Forecastfox put me off. I feel like this useful tool has been redesigned to appeal to preschoolers or something.

Part of the problem is that the pop-ups are too big. They cover up too much of the screen. And I don't know whether it's my computer or what, but the actual text is in very small type and is hard for me to read.

I have reverted back to old reliable 0.9.10.2. I wish an alternative version using the old display could be made available with the modern bug fixes and actual improvements.

Forecastfox Weather

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I took one look at the new Forecastfox and immediately downgraded back to 0.9.10.2. Everything's running just as it did before except for one thing; on very hot days I no longer see the "flaming thermometer". On my other computer, where I never installed the upgrade, the thermometer still shows. And believe me, out here right now it's appropriate. We just had the hottest day on record for this area! Can you tell me how to get the icon back? I checked, and I am using the same icon set (Accuweather.com Iconic) on both machines. Jay
