Excellent! Outstanding! 12 on a scale of 1 to 10.

I have never liked the drop down on Google search when typing. I don't want to see it, I view it as a distraction.

Today my frustration boiled over. I was determined to find the fix. Google search settings were useless. Searching Firefox add-ons was no help.

Ironically, I had no choice but to search with Google. I saw a suggestion that there was a Google option when right clicking the form field. After seeing the options on Google search settings, I was doubtful, but I tried anyway. And there it was, Yarip. I don't know why I didn't think of it first.

Then I also tried it on some other sites, works perfectly.

Loved this app! Any chance it will be updated to be compatible with the latest version of Firefox?

I am currently working on a rewrite, but can give no date for its release :(

Was looking for something like this and this is perfect! Don't know where else I can use it but so far, I'm happy!

With Google, Amazon, Mozilla, et al staying up late at night devising intensely annoying elements to add to their web pages, I've got them beat with Yarip. It does what the Ad Blockers can't do. I highly recommend it. Take control of what you don't want to see, get rid of elements like the Amazon Ad Carousel. Try it you'll like it!!!

Either make this compatible with multiprocess or create a new one that does.

I am working on your second suggestion ;)

So I switched from AdBlock Plus to uBlock, simply because I find uBlock much faster. However, uBlock's builtin element blocker is just down right horrible, actually it's an embarrassment.

Now, I've come across this addon, and this dev has saved the day! This element blocker addon works just like a quality blocker should work. You can easily and quickly outline and hide the elements you want to block. You can quickly disable the blocker if you temporarily need the hidden elements back. And you can open a page to view all the elements you blocked.

Thank you!!!! Please keep this addon updated.

I reviewed this when I first used it years ago but having just changed to a new pc I've come back to it again. Once again the very excellent YARIP has romped through all the annoyances on pages and vanished them for ever.
Does exactly what it says and even a techy-dim like me has no problem using it.
Thankyou to the creator!

UPDATE:
Actually, Ublock Origin now implements :has() and :xpath() filters, starting from version 1.8.0.

======================
Advertisers are progressively moving away from banners and explicit ads towards sponsored content sneaked into your articles, feeds and streams.

With the popularity of ad blockers based on CSS, web designers are stripping adverts of their identifiable CSS attributes, effectively making this type of filtering obsolete.

Xpath expressions let you block element with much more flexibility.
For example if you want to block the sponsored tracks on Soundcloud, you can select them by some part of their «Sponsored Track» header.
It looks something like this:
//li[@class='soundList__item'][div/div/div/span[contains(@class,'sc-promoted-icon')]]

Currently though, it doesn't work in multiprocess mode.
I really hope the dev can manage to upgrade it before Mozilla rolls out e10 into the standard Firefox version.

This addon very helpful and easy to blocking element what i want to block. Just click and click like magic, the elements dissappear.. Great addon

One of my essential and frequently-used addons, but seems not to be compatible with E10s in the developer version.

E10s can be disabled at the moment, but might create problems when E10s is eventually included in normal firefox versions and the homepage for the addon seems to be an unimplemented skeleton project.

I am currently building momentum, to get back to coding on the add-on; after a long time doing nothing. I will try to make it compatible, before Firefox breaks it ;)

Makes some websites usable!

the add-on is exactly what I was looking for for months! Easy to use and many useful features. In particular I like the 'manage pages' feature where you can use the XPath language to make the add-on do exactly what you want it to do (e.g. with searches where you want to remove certain search results from the list). Really awesome, saves me lots of time! Thanks to the developper, great job!

I can install into Palemoon, but I have to move the yarip file from Firefox's profile into the Palemoon profile. Then it will block what you have blocked in FF. But you can't block anything new. You have to go back To FF and block it there and then copy the file again. Been that way several years. Using latest version.

Adblock+ doesn't catch everything. Ghostery and NoScript don't catch everything. And sometimes these other plugins leave a small mess behind. This is the perfect hand sweeper and dust pan. This isn't for beginners, but if you know some html, and you'd like to get rid of annoyances on web pages, this is the perfect way to do it. A big thank you to the author for a job well done.

Love the XPath support, I worry it's not "user friendly" enough, but with some XPath knowledge you can selectively block annoying ads with ease.
