In was using batch copy but after upgrading to thunderbird 24 batchcopy stopped working, came across this addon and this helped me back up my emails on top of the existing backup batch copy made. A perfect replacement! Thanks :)

Usig Firefox 26.0, I copied half a dozen folders one at a time and it copied those along with their subfolders. Some subfolders also had subfolders. All folders and subfolders and emails copied. There were over 40 folders and 2,000 emails in total.

Hello, would be great if it really works. When trying to copy folders including subfolders and then messages, it copies the folders and subfolders and in some cases even messages for one or two subfolders. Can't fix why.

After downloading and installing it, I tried to set it up as indicated on the main add-on page. Tools > Account Settings > Synchronization & Storage" does not exist in T-Bird version 24.0.1 for the Mac.
Following the instructions only downloads the inbox to the local folders. T-Bird already downloads the inbox. I don't need that. I need the other folders.

Very useful! I use Copy Folder for a simple backup of my IMAP account in my local folders. It's true, this was the missing plugin.

This plugin is great. I'm copying over 60,000 messages in a complex tree and it is doing well, although it is slow, at least it is completely automated. Very good

This addon doesn't work because there is a bug in Thunderbird where if there is any error message from the IMAP server, Thunderbird stops processing further IMAP commands but does not properly alert the user or addon.

Good idea, but it does not copy recursively the contents of the folders and their sub-folders. The structure is ok, but the folders that are not leaves of the tree are empty in the copy.

Excellent. Worked as described. Also did a differential copy so only added new emails to folder.

Danke

I agree with the other review. Great idea, but I also find that when copying from a local folder to an IMAP account, only one folder is copied on each try. This is only marginally better than recreating the folder structure manually. I'd gladly change my review to 5 stars if this worked better.

Using TB 10 / 11
Some times (!) it makes a copy, but not all of the subfolders, have to repeat same action (from - to) often; counting of mails in the subfolders is correct... and yes, I have the mails locally for offline-reading.
