"Developer Comments
This extensions simple exchanges the addressbookfiles! There is no synchronization of the content! The last upload overwrites all previous uploads."
Then why do you call "Addressbooks Synchronizer?" This is VERY misleading!

thunderbird 2.0.0.12, using webdav to own local server - works well, INCLUDING preserving distribution lists. have used it to populate newly installed desktops.
(would get a 10 if it updated at per-entry level instead of per-addressbook level)

I loved this feature, and I mean loved it, until I realized it had overwritten all my lists as blank. I lost it all, which sucks. Hopefully an update will be out soon that fixes this.

Now that you've fixed the mail-lists issue, this is an AWESOME plugin. I sync it w/ 3 computers. Now I just need to figure out how to sync it with my Apple Addressbook.
Thanks!!

This is excellent! I finally found something that can sync my contacts in Thunderbird!
I had earlier tried Sync Kolab, which is buggy (my deleted contacts keep reappearing in a refresh!!)

This is a great tool. Make it better by adding the same logic to sync separate calendars and tasks. Nice Job!

I have a Windows home network with four users on two computers, and a Linux fileserver/router/firewall to serve both Windows boxes. Getting my wife and kids to work with a LDAP server was never going to work. I copied the biggest Thunderbird addressbook file out of the 4 separate ones we have to a Samba share, and installed this addon for every copy of Thunderbird. This works perfectly for us, and has made my life much easier. Any updates get propagated to all 4 addressbooks without any extra work. Thank you!

Apart from a few "flaws" this is exactly what you need if you're using TB from more than one PC. Esp. the possibility to use an IMAP folder to store the sync'ed address books is an excellent approach!
