It works great, just as intended! I have a weird convoluted email setup in which I use offlineimap to poll my Gmail, and this plugin is great for running offlineimap when I don't want to wait for the next cron job. The one problem with it is that it causes Thunderbird to hang while it's executing the command (if you check the "wait for command to finish" option), but I think it wouldn't be an issue if Gmail weren't so slow.
