It worked well and I used it almost year until my company turned ON multifactor authorization. After that, addon was unable do login. When i contacted plugin support, nobody answered me. So i decided to stop renewing license.

Answers to dev:
- recreated account and changed auth type to OWL.
woah! Now it works. Great. Hate outlook.

Did you change the authentication method in TB account settings?

Did you try to delete the account and set it up again?

I do really like this addon as it is the only option for me since my company enabled MFA. I can understand other reviewers that problems are annoying but developer reacts quickly. With the version 0.7.7.5 I do not see disappearing of emails anymore.

What I would consider being a developer of this addon is to create a community realm (Slack, forum, Github/Gitlab account without source but with issue tracker and releases etc) because that would be much more transparent for users and even the issues could be reported publicly and transparently.

I use Tbird 68.10.0 & Owl 0.7.7.4 on Linux, and often the Inbox is empty blank. I click an other folder the problem temporarily improves.

Can you please try with 0.7.7.5? We made additional changes, which hopefully resolves the problem entirely. Can you please update your rating accordingly?

I'm running Tbird 78.6.1 and Owl 0.7.7.4. My Inbox is still suddenly going blank. When I click on another folder (drafts, sent, etc) they populate the list as normal and when I go back to the Inbox it is back to normal. After what seems like a variable length of time (30 to 120 seconds) the list of messages goes blank. Even a message opened in its own tab goes away!

0.7.7.5 was released within what seems like minutes of my "review". The developer also responded to an email to support the same day. Like someone I heard say recently "Who Does That!"

All is well with this release and my rating is now 5 Stars.

Dankeschön. Mit Version 7.7.4 sind die Probleme mit der Anzeige des Posteingangs behoben. Auch das Problem mit den Doubletten bei den Kalendereinträgen ist verschwunden, die Synchronisation funktioniert.

UPDATE: I sent my error console information to the developer, as requested, and they released a new version later that day. I've been on 0.7.7.5 since yesterday, and so far, my inbox has stopped going blank. Thanks to beonex for being responsive.

Previous review: After updating to 0.7.7.2, all the messages disappeared from my inbox. To see them, I had to switch to another folder and back. As soon as I scroll, they disappear again. Invites from calendar keep coming in but I cannot dismiss them. I saw your response to another user, and updated to 0.7.7.3. I am still having the same problem.

Did you restart Thunderbird after the installation? If the problem persists afterwards, please send the error console output (as text) to [email protected] , with "[error console]" in the subject.

After you did that, please try 0.7.7.4, and again send the error console output. (Both releases.) Make sure to restart Thunderbird after every installation of Owl.

Please send bug reports *only* to [email protected] , not here. We cannot properly handle questions here, because we need more information than a review provides.

If the problem disappears after a Thunderbird restart, and it works fine with 0.7.7.3 or 0.7.7.4, please update the review, and also send a mail to [email protected] .

I have some issues with the latest version of Chouette for Exchange (0.7.7.2) updated today.

* Messages from my inbox disappear regularly. I have to swith to another folder and go back to see them again.
* I’m now unable to turn off alerts when they prompt

The last version 0.7.7.2 is freezing thunderbird when enabled.
Starting from 0.7.7.0 the add on is unusable.
Yes, I filed a bug report through the support email about 4 days ago and I was told that I am doing something wrong. I filed another one today with step by step instructions about how to reproduce the problem on a linux platform. I hope that something can be done as I am paying for the service.

I will change my rating when the problem is solved. I was happy with the add on before the current release, which does not work.

Update for 0.7.7.3: - it works now but has the following problems:
1) It takes more than one minute to load. delays thunderbird startup
2) because of the above starting thunderbird from a desktop link with feedback does not work because of timeout
3) it leaves the webmail tab in a separate tab
4 ) the number of folder subscriptions is too large in the accounts tab , many groups that I am not subscribed or interested in. It does not match what I see in the webmail page, there are many many more, cluttering the list.

Remaining issue : I am getting 2 identical entries for the same account.

The one the previously gave me access to ALL the public folders is now identical with the entry that shows what I am subscribed to. This is redundant. Only one entry should be in my accounts list.
Perhaps you could make a selector to allow me to see/download only those folders that I am interested in.
If that is implemented, this add on is a 5* no questions asked.

We're aware. We just released an update 0.7.7.3. It fixed a problem introduced in 0.7.7.2 since yesterday.

UPDATE: The many folders that you see are public folders of your organisation that you have access to. This was new since the update last week that we displayed those, to give you access to the folders that your organisation gave you. (We are not in a position to know whether you're interested in them or not, only whether you have access and they contain messages.)

If you have many large such folders, that would be the reason why you have trouble since last week, because they are apparently too much. That's why you saw crashes in Thunderbird etc.. We obviously didn't expect you to have so many folders.

Please update to 0.7.7.4. (Make sure to restart Thunderbird after the update of Owl.) It should solve this.

I'm happy that 0.7.7.4 fixed the problems for you.

You're saying that you see your account twice, right? Something must have gotten mixed up. Did you try to re-create the account at any point during the last week, in an attempt to fix this? If so, that's probably the reason.

I can see only 2 ways to fix this: Either create a new Thunderbird profile, and re-create the account there, or - if you're tech savvy and you know what you're doing -, delete the account (the one with the higher "server" number) manually in "Config Editor". Make an backup of prefs.js before you try that.

We will consider to make UI to specifically subscribe to folders. We'll see how to approach that. Right now, we're still shaken from this episode.

Recently calendar updates stopped working. I am not able to create nor update or postpone any calendar entries. Display and popup works fine. I think it was one of the recent updates that broke this features, as previously they were working fine. As far as I know there were no changes on the Exchange side.

Email works fine.

The email part works fine most of the time, despite some tendency every now and then to refuse connection and display "this is always a server error" when the webmail clearly works.
The calendar part is a bit disappointing. Viewing events is fine, but new events are sometimes not created at all, or are displayed twice. It really feels unreliable.
Support is not helpful. I wrote a couple of emails last year and got a reply only once.

The calendar is still in beta and not an official feature yet. In case this helps, the 0.7.7.1 release fixed a bug about duplicated event entries.

When we show "This is always a server issue", it's because your email server encountered an internal error, and the server admitted *itself* (using standard protocols) that it's the server's own fault and not the fault of the application.

In some cases, your server is simply to slow, or you're running into performance limitations. Unlike the webmail interface, which only shows you a handful of messages at a time, Thunderbird shows you all messages in your inbox. We need to update the entire inbox. If you have a huge inbox, that can overload some servers.

A tip: Do not leave more than 10000 messages in your inbox, but move old mail (many months old) into an archive folder. That should help a lot with performance. Exchange protocols and servers have some limitations, and you might be running into one.

Great plugin! However, could you support Thunderbird 84 beta version? Since when I upgraded to macOS Big Sur, the thunderbird version 78 is sloooow and works fine when I use TB84 beta version.

I understand that TB 78 is not usable for you and TB 84 beta works for you. I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience with TB 78.

However, given that a lot of things change in each TB beta version of the course of a year, we are not able to constantly update to all betas. We can only provide compatibility support for officially supported end user releases. We have clearly marked the compatibility here on this site, to openly communicate this to users what we can do and what we cannot do.

While I understand that it's unfortunate in your particular case, I hope for your understanding.

P.S. Have you tried to override the version check and see whether Owl happens to work in TB 84 anyways?

Well done. Finally allows all the features of a rich client like Thunderbird with my organization's Exchange server (which doesn't allow Outlook for licensing reasons).

This addon mostly works and does most of the heavy lifting involved when integrating Thunderbird with Office 365. However, despite many attempts, I cannot perform address lookups for my organization.

Plus, Beonex support does not seem to respond to support requests. However, it's still a fairly good add-on

Really happy to support these guys - this extension really is the only one of its kind. It works very well and their support is very friendly and helpful. I'm forced to use exchange at work, and this is the only solution that I've found that works on Linux for me. Highly recommended - support the developer!

This indeed does what I expect, sync my mailbox etc. Two nice things I can't find yet though:

1. Download all mail button. I've a new account added with owl and want all my emails downloaded when adding an account
2. The checkbox ' save reply in same folder' is disabled when using an account linked with owl.
